Differences in Communication Styles Between Latinos and European Americans

 

This phenomenal seminar addresses the differences in nonverbal and verbal communication styles between Latinos and European Americans and how these differences can cause misperceptions, misinterpretations leading to misunderstanding in the workplace.  Mr. Cruz will address the common wrong ways to deal with the differences and provide tips to effectively deal with the differences to prevent misunderstanding.

Proxemics: the study of distance in nonverbal communication

Haptics: the study of touching in nonverbal communication

Kinesics:  the study of movement such as facial and body gestures.

Oculesics: eye contact

Chronemics: how people in different cultures structure, interpret and  understand time dimensions

Paralinguistics: the use of voice qualifiers and vocalizations

See how the differences in non-verbal communication styles cause misperceptions, misinterpretation and lead to misunderstanding.
Recognize differences in values across cultures and how they impact the inter-cultural relationships in the corporate environment
Understand the most common incorrect ways to deal with these differences
Learn effective ways to dealing with differences to avoid misperception, misinterpretations
